Let's Meet The Family - Literally!
april

April is the founder of Happily Ever After. She spends her days managing the fort with handling all the confusing logistics of running a small business. This can be creating/finessing our products, all the way to the very fun job of organising finances.
When April finally matches to switch off, outside of work she is also a very busy bee! She loves to go to gigs, goes on lots of walks with her rescue dog Poppy, and when she finally manages to sit down, you’ll see her binging all the best reality TV shows… ALL OF THEM.
On a serious note, April is the heart and soul of our crazy idea. She drives Happily Ever After forward every day with determination and pure hard work, so let’s make some noise for April
SAM

Sam is April’s annoying little brother and the number 2 of Happily Ever After. He spends his days creating all our orders, being the main voice of our customer service, and carrying everything that’s too heavy for April to lift!
Outside of work, Sam lives a similar lifestyle to April. He has a strong addiction to festivals, an even stronger addiction to his TV, and very weak addiction to physical labour past the hours of 5pm.
Sam is the physical force plowing all our orders right to YOU! He brings positivity, love and pride to Happily Ever After, which is all thanks to his big sister for letting him join in on the fun!
Founded in 2021, Happily Ever After is the first fully vegan book subscription box in the UK.
With a love of animals, the planet, and reading in mind, our mission is to create a happily ever after for:

April (Founder) visiting Millington's Magical Barn
The Planet -
by saving as many books as we possibly can from landfill
Each year millions and millions of books are published and sent out to book stores in the hopes of finding their forever homes. Unfortunately, some books (through no fault of their own!) don’t make the cut and are left waiting on the shelves. There are a number of reasons for this, such as overly optimistic publishing, not making the top chart lists etc. These books are then sent back to publishers where they can either be pulped (very scary thought for book lovers!), sent to landfill (ever scarier thought for planet lovers!) or rescued by Happily Ever After. This means you can enjoy unread books without feeling guilty about the detrimental environmental impact of buying brand new books.
Animals -
by helping to support the rescue of animals by donating money to local charities with each purchase
Every purchase made on our website, and each subscription book box we send out donates money to local animal rescue organisations. We have raised hundreds of pounds for the following animal rescue organisations so far:
- The Wonkey Donkey Sanctuary
- The Sheffield Cat Shelter
- The Farm Animal Sanctuary
- The Special Branch
- Millington’s Magical Barn
- Pigs in the Wood
And have many more deserving organisations lined up in the near future. Let us know if you have a worthy organisation that we can support!
...and by introducing lovely people to tasty vegan friendly chocolates
Whether you are vegan yourself, buying a gift for a vegan, or just someone that is open to exploring some great tasting treats, our book and treat boxes are for everyone. Vegan chocolate used to have a bit of a reputation, many a time have we heard “I would go vegan but I can’t give up chocolate!”
Well, we are here to let you know that times have certainly changed recently, and there are so many AMAZING tasty vegan chocolates out there now.
Our Book and Pamper box contains a different surprise vegan chocolate each month, so is a great way to explore different brands and suss which ones are your favourite. We’ll have you ditching that dairy in no time 😉
You -
-all whilst indulging in some "me time" with a good book of course!
And most important of all, we want you to have a little bit of escapism and enjoy treating yourself to some much-deserved self-care. The past few years have been difficult for us all, and it has never been more important to step away from that screen and treat yourself to the perfect night in with a book.
